Hello you!
So for those of you who would be making wrapper blouses, skirt bLouses and the like, here's how you can apply fusible bust pads to your bust cups. If you are conversant with the nigerian blouses as seen on ladies wearing different asoebi styles, you would definitely come across blouses that make the blossom look absolutely wonderful! *clears throat*
As you can see, I've cut up by bust cups. Along with princess seams. You can go through my tube top and princess seam posts here and here
Here, I'm using a lace fabric for ease of understanding.
You cut up your main fabric, your underlining (if you are using lace, you should have two sets of underlining as one set would be directly facing the lace and that is what people would see from the outside)
Do same for your lace fabric and underlining.
Apply your fusible bust pads. I used a thick weight padding for mine.
Place in all three frontal pieces. Be sure to end your padding at the underbust as you don't want padding on your waistline trust me .
Sew the pieces together starting from top to bottom, notch and iron out.
So practice these steps and watch this space for the next part. Muah!

Please what is fusible bust pad called in the market? thanks.
Just tell 'em you need 'breast pad', naturally they would show you the different types according to their thickness, so you choose the I e you're most comfy with. The thicker the pad, the thicker your blouse!
ok thanks!
Thanks for sharing this, you explained it clearer and better than my 'oga'...only thing I need now is time to try this on my own.
How do I take d measurement to cut d blouse d way u did? Thanks
Bust,apex,under bust,waistline,bodice,hips
Hi, I love ur tutorial on fusible bust pad, it was well detailed , but , I want u to do video on how u put the pieces together .."............pleasssssssssse. Tanks a lot and God bless, looking forward to seeing that video. Cheers.
Hmmm.... A video.....
Would keep u posted on that one
I love this tutorial but one thing I do not understand is if we are to put the pad in between the cloth and the lylin cos I can see the pad showing. kindly explain better if. God bless you
The pad is fused to the first layer of lining with a pressing iron. Since it's a lace blouse, u need two layers of lining. One goes directly underneath the lace( a shiny fabric is preferable for this and not an actual lining. U could use taffeta, satin etc)
As for the pad showing, that's what the second layer of lining is meant for...to cover all that up. Hope u get it now?
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate. Pls am about to sew my fabric now bt some1 says I can use thick stay instead of breast pad and again can i put the pad at the back of my fabric 'cos am making use of one lining. God bless
Hello, thanks for sharing this. Please ma kindly explain better how we are going to join it with the lace and the lining with picture. Plsssssssssssssss (II) Can i cut the pad from the shoulder if am to cut normal hand and nt off shoulder or tube. Thanks
@anon 14:00. U can use thick stay in place of pads n u can totally use a single lining but only if u aren't sewing a lace fabric.
I'll post pics of bra cup kinda pads so u guys can see. That can be used as well n u won't even need a bra!
Another anon! Please guys! Post comments with ur names PLEASE!!!!
@ second anon, I'll post that hopefully soon. No worries. Watch this space. Got a blouse I'm working on at the moment only, I'm not making use of fusible pads but bra cup pads. It's such fun you'll see!
Second question no u can't apply padding from the shoulder, otherwise us look ridiculous!

Very good titorial. I just wish you explained how you marked your measurements onto the fabric and how you came about with the cut.
Please how do i cut the blouse
I absolutely love this thanks so much. I have questions though;
Won't the pad lift at the base since there's no sewing there and should the person be measured with a padded bra.
thank you for you tutorial. you made it simple.
