Welcome to my second post and thanks for stopping by. 'Cut Of The Matter' is a feature on sewing projects, and occasionally I would show step-by-step processes of garments being created, so we are going to be seeing more posts such as this here. (So I wanted to create an embellished ankara jacket with some edge to it, and what could be better than a sophisticated 70s inspired lapel and collar? well nothing I must say! After all Leonardo Da Vinci said 'simplicity is the ultimate sophistication' *wink* So anyway here's the picture of the dress
And here is the finished jacket.
And here is the finished jacket.
So i decided to modify the lapel by not separating them as it is in the original picture, and embellished it thoroughly lol! Below's as upclose shot.

Pls I wanna know where I can get all these studs to buy, I love embellishments but where to buy the stud is my problem, pls kindly help
ReplyDelete@anon- sure! However I didn't use studs here, I basically used beads and sequins in various colourts and sizes. You can visit bead shops(shops that sell bead making tools)for these. And please all you anonymouses! Do try to leave a name @ least so that if/when there's a giveaway, there'l be a name to use! :-)
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention - d beads used are called 'seed beads' dey come in different colours, some are shiny while others are dull on the surface.

ReplyDeletethanks paulnuvj , but i don't know where u are located so i cant say. if however you're in Nigeria, you could get studs @ the markets i.e. where tailoring materials are sold, bag makers, etc. also check out Designer's Muse - 08035962268. In making this jacket though, i didn't make use of studs....
ReplyDeleteHello Onnari, I just stumbled into this blog and I love the jacket. Pls can you show us how to make it?
